National Archives Says This Is What Must Happen Before DOJ Can Release VP Records

The National Archives stated on Tuesday that it needs clearance from the Justice Department before it will be allowed to share any information related to the classified documents that were discovered n President Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home and in the office of a Washington, D.C., think tank with GOP members of the House.

“DOJ has advised it will need to consult with the newly appointed Office of Special Counsel (SCO) in DOJ, to assess whether information can be released without interfering with the SCO’s investigation,” acting Archivist Debra Steidel Wall stated in a letter sent out to House Oversight Chairman James Comer.

Last week, Comer demanded that the NARA hand over the documents and communications between the White House, the agency, the DOJ, and the president’s legal team that were related to the classified documents uncovered at the Penn Biden Center.

“For months, NARA failed to disclose to Committee Republicans or the American public that President Biden — after serving as Vice President — stored highly classified documents in a closet at his personal office. NARA learned about these documents days before the 2022 midterm elections and did not alert the public that President Biden was potentially violating the law. Meanwhile, NARA instigated a public and unprecedented FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago — former President Trump’s home — to retrieve presidential records. NARA’s inconsistent treatment of recovering classified records held by former President Trump and President Biden raises questions about political bias at the agency,” Comer went on to write.

“The White House last week disclosed that classified government documents from the Obama administration were found in Biden’s possession on four different occasions,” Newsmax reported.

The American people deserve to know the full truth concerning these documents and whether or not Biden had any sort of authority to keep them in his possession after leaving the office of vice president. Something tells me the actual legal answer is “no,” but does it really matter?

The left will no doubt bend over backwards to protect Biden so there aren’t any roadblocks in his way concerning the 2024 election. Of course, I could be wrong. Perhaps the Democratic Party is trying to find a valid excuse to push themselves away from him? Guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks.
