According to former President Donald Trump, a Republican, the reason why the GOP did so poorly during last week’s midterm elections is all because of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Trump published a post on his Truth Social account railing against the Kentucky Republican, saying, “It’s Mitch McConnell’s fault. Spending money to defeat great Republican candidates instead of backing Blake Masters and others was a big mistake. Giving 4 Trillion Dollars to the Radical Left for the Green New Deal, not Infrastructure, was an even bigger mistake. He blew the Midterms, and everyone despises him and his otherwise lovely wife, Coco Chow!”
Here’s more from Newsmax:
Trump was referring to McConnell spending millions of dollars to support incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, who ran against a more conservative Republican, Kelly Tshibaka, while pulling money from the Arizona race in which Republican Blake Masters took on Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly.
Republicans lost the chance to take back control of the Senate when Democrats clinched a seat in Nevada. A runoff for the Georgia election on Dec. 6 will determine whether the Senate split will be 50-50 or if the Democrats will have 51 seats.
It’s amazing how much time Republicans are wasting in-fighting and trying to find someone they can blame for the crappy turnout of the midterms rather than actually looking at the bigger picture and realizing it’s not one person’s fault, but a lack of engagement with folks on the ground in a number of different ways.
We spend so much time engaging in politics, we forget to follow the advice of the late great Andrew Breitbart who said politics are downstream from culture. This means that we as conservatives are not doing enough to engage in creative storytelling, bringing people together by telling great stories that transcend the petty things that divide us and unite us in the common struggles of humanity.

When stories do this, people come together and realize they share the same values and principles. They band together and fight back against tyranny that tries to destroy those values. This is why the left keeps trying to ensure that our nation remains split along the lines of race, politics, and sexual identity.
A united people presents a serious challenge to the rule of the elites.
