DeSantis, Abbott Expose The Left’s Despicable Double Standard On Migrants

While the main reason that many Republican governors in border states are shipping illegal migrants flooding into their cities and towns to places like Washington, D.C., New York City, and Chicago as a means of helping to relieve the burden they have had to bear ever since this border crisis kicked off, that’s not the only reason for this course of action.

As it turns out, there has been an additional benefit that has come from the employment of this strategy. It has exposed the deplorable double standard of the Democratic Party, particularly those who hold to an open-border policy, yet are practicing what is called a “not-in-my-backyard” standard when it comes to actually caring for the migrants that they have sworn to support.

According to a report from Just the News:

The images of the wealthy enclave of Martha’s Vineyard rejecting migrants, or the mayors of Chicago and the District of Columbia declaring emergencies for a few busloads sent from the South has catapulted the consequences of illegal migration to the front pages of newspapers and left Democrats facing difficult questions about hypocrisy.

“I heard that the President is scrambling to get his Cabinet together to try to address the fact that you have governors who are helping to relocate illegal aliens to sanctuary cities,” DeSantis joyfully declared over the weekend. “Now, he didn’t scramble to get his Cabinet together when we had millions of people illegally pouring across the southern border. He didn’t scramble to get his Cabinet together when you had 53 migrants die in some trailer in Texas because they were neglected by the federal government.

“You didn’t see him scramble to get his Cabinet together when we had Americans that were victimized by criminal aliens that he let across the border. You didn’t see him scramble to get his Cabinet together when we hit record fentanyl deaths, which that fentanyl is coming across his open border. It’s only when you have 50 illegal aliens end up in a very wealthy rich sanctuary enclave that he decides to scramble on this.”

Democrats have been having a rather difficult time crafting a message to get around the truth being revealed through the actions of red state governors who are basically calling them on their bluff by shipping migrants to their sanctuary cities. Biden has stated time and again that individuals like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are playing politics, but has not really put out much of a response.

Others in the Democratic Party have attempted to refer to the busing of immigrants to these locations as a “stunt” or going on to suggest it is some form of kidnapping. However, they have been totally skunked at every turn by these GOP governors. So much so that there are even some big name Democrats praising them for taking this action.

“It is an interesting question for liberals to be like, ‘Hey, let’s have open borders’ or close to it, and then when they come, ‘But it’s not in our states,'” iconic liberal comedian Bill Maher went on to say during a segment in his show last week. “And the Texas Governor kind of called their bluff. He was like, ‘Well, you like immigrants so much? Have some of ours.'”

“There seems to be some hypocrisy about welcoming them, but not in my backyard,” Maher continued. “That’s what seems different about this.”

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom tried to take a serious stab at it last week, asking the Justice Department to consider whether what Abbott and DeSantis are doing is kidnapping. But that got laughed off when the governors revealed the migrants sign waivers accepting the bus trips,” Newsmax reported.

“Indeed, kidnapping ‘is a thing,’ just not this thing,” George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, a Democrat, posted in a tweet on Sunday, giving his reaction to a MSNBC pundit repeating Newsom’s talking point. “This claim was also made by Gov. Gavin Newsom. It is legally absurd.”

Ladies and gentlemen, I firmly believe we are seeing such strong action and leadership from the right at the moment thanks to the influence of former President Donald Trump. The face of the GOP has forever been altered. The establishment has lost their influence. People want folks with spines of steel to stand up for our values and rights as a nation.

That’s what DeSantis and Abbott are doing at the moment. All I can say is it’s about time.
